TPS is searching for passionate theatre lovers to bring their expertise to the annual Gregory Awards. See plays all year while using your critical eye to rate productions, performances and artistic elements. Your ratings will shape the Nominee List for the Gregory Awards which will then be voted on by Theatre Puget Sound members.
Anyone located in the Greater Seattle Metropolitan/Puget Sound area is invited to apply. No specific requirements for age or experience; just an appreciation for the art of theatre!
Season runs from August 1, 2018 through July 31, 2019. Application closes Friday July 5!
Theatre Puget Sound welcomes your application and appreciates your desire to become a Gregory Awards Nominator. Qualified Nominators will attend approximately 15-20 productions per season, evaluating each on its own merits against the Gregory Awards Standard of Excellence Guidelines. This is the perfect opportunity for you to give back to the theatre community with your expertise and knowledge. As an added bonus, Nominators receive a complimentary ticket to each show they are assigned to attend. If you have any questions about how a Gregory Awards Nominator schedule can fit into your calendar, please e-mail shane@tpsonline.org or call (206) 770-0370. Nominators will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Range of experience as a working theatre practitioner;
- Degree of training in applied theatre practice;
- Location and availability to see plays throughout the year;
- Range of theatre viewing experience; and
- Demonstrated understanding of theatrical artistry.
- Special consideration given to those willing to travel outside of the Seattle city limits to see plays
- Nominators will see about 20 shows per season depending on amount of shows/Nominators in a season. Constant email communication and a flexible weekend evenings schedule is very important. If you're unavailable more weekends than you're available, or are slow to respond to emails, this job may not be for you.
- Immediately after seeing each play, Nominators will grade each element based on a 1-100 rating criteria provided to them.
- Nominators are expected to attend one orientation session before they will be assigned a performance. Training session based in the work of equity and inclusion will also be provided throughout the year. More information about these activities will be provided at the nominator orientation.
- You do not need to be a TPS member to apply. Please, pass this along to anyone you know!
The 2018-2019 awards season begins August 1. Apply now and join the celebration!
